Welcoming Grant Ashenden to Motus Vehicle Solutions

At Motus Vehicle Solutions, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety across all areas of our business. With this in mind, we are delighted to welcome Grant Ashenden as our new Health & Safety Compliance Manager.

Grant brings a wealth of experience in health and safety, having spent the past seven years in the aviation logistics industry with DHL at East Midlands Airport. His journey into health and safety began during his time as a trainer and member of the ‘Incident Response’ department, which laid the foundation for his passion and expertise in this field.

Reflecting on his career, Grant shared:

“One of my proudest achievements at DHL was designing and implementing a new ‘near miss’ safety app. It provided employees with a tool to report concerns quickly and efficiently, helping us identify and address risks proactively. The success of this initiative led to its rollout across other aviation sites, including London Heathrow and Luton.”

Grant also played a pivotal role in achieving ISO45001 certification for health and safety management and contributed to fostering a positive safety culture among over 800 employees across diverse areas, from warehouse logistics to aircraft operations.

At MVS, Grant is already setting his sights on key objectives. He explained:

“My goal is to build on the excellent work of my predecessor while bringing a fresh perspective to our health and safety practices. I want to ensure that our risk assessments and safe systems of work are robust and that any opportunities to lower risks are implemented swiftly. Most importantly, I want to help create an open environment where employees feel comfortable raising concerns, no matter how small they may seem.”

Peter Glover, Managing Director of Motus Vehicle Solutions, expressed his enthusiasm about Grant’s appointment:

“Grant’s impressive background and innovative approach to health and safety make him a fantastic addition to our team. We are confident that his expertise will strengthen our commitment to providing a safe and supportive workplace for everyone.”

We are excited to see the positive impact Grant will have on our organisation and look forward to the initiatives he will introduce to enhance safety across all areas of MVS.
