Connected Solutions For Commercial Fleets

Training 4 Tail Lifts supporting higher standards through IMI approval

Recognised by the IMI

To mark the achievement, Training 4 Tail Lifts welcomed Michelle Barrett, UK Key Account Manager at the IMI, who visited the site to present a commemorative plaque to the team.

Grant Williamson, Training & Business Development Manager at Training 4 Tail Lifts, said it is “a great pleasure for T4TL to have become an IMI approved training centre,” adding that the accreditation “is great for the industry and for engineers, because it recognises the quality of training on offer and helps raise the bar for professionalism and safety.”

Michelle Barrett praised the work behind the approval, commenting: “We are delighted to welcome you as an IMI centre. You have put a lot of work into it and it is great to have you on board, especially as you are so focused on maintaining high standards and supporting the industry with quality training.”

Raising standards in technical training is critical for safety, compliance and confidence across the commercial vehicle industry. That is why Motus Vehicle Solutions is proud to share a recent milestone achieved by Training 4 Tail Lifts (T4TL), which has been officially recognised as an Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) approved training centre.

Based in Telford, T4TL plays a key role in developing competent, compliant engineers working on safety-critical tail lift equipment. Gaining IMI approval marks an important step in strengthening independent, industry-recognised training standards.

Celebrating Captek certified engineers

During the visit, Grant was also joined by five mobile service engineers from Aftercare Response who have recently gained their Captek certification, and he used the occasion to present them with their certificates and ID cards.

Explaining the significance of this, Grant said: “Captek is a new competency-based certification for tail lift and mobile service engineers that sets a consistent benchmark for technical ability, safety and compliance.

“Seeing more engineers achieve Captek is great for the industry, because it gives operators and fleet owners confidence that work on critical lifting equipment is carried out by properly assessed, highly skilled professionals.”

A shared commitment to safer operations

Together, the IMI centre approval and the growing number of Captek certified engineers underline Training 4 Tail Lifts’ focus on structured, independently recognised training that supports safer, more compliant and more reliable tail lift operations across the UK.

As part of Motus Vehicle Solutions, Training 4 Tail Lifts continues to play a vital role in supporting engineers, customers and the wider industry through high-quality training and recognised standards.
